After working almost exclusively on pieces with representational images, I felt a need to return to a more abstract approach. I found my need for "life" images was satisfied in the machine quilting stitches, which include many abstract leaf and floral designs. The use of warm colors was also a satisfying break from the brilliant cool colors used in several previous works. I have shared this piece in several exhibits and find that the viewer helps my process feel complete. Instead of the literal conversations shared in more narrative quilts, here the talking is done in circles.
