Cyanotype is a process of creating your own designs on fabric by using light sensitive, chemically treated cotton fabric. By placing images printed on clear acetate on top of the fabrics and exposing them to sunlight, the images appear. When the chemicals are washed out, covered areas remain white and exposed areas become bright blue. This is called blueprinting. By taking the process one step further, greens can be created. The leaves in this piece were all gathered from my own yard or from my leaf collection.
Machine pieced.
