Vermont Open Studio Weekend, May 28-29, 2022

Judith Reilly’s Studio

Come to Brandon, VT and explore my studio space; be amazed at the fabric spilling out of every corner, and see my creative process for fabric art pieces!

Even after all these years, drawing with a sewing machine is still an amazing experience for me.

I’m excited to present my online product line of Tote BagsMugs and Pillows, all using my original designs.

150+ studios and galleries throughout Vermont are participating in this 2-day event 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29. Be sure to visit Brandon’s other galleries and artists – the Brandon Artists Guild (30 artists), the Vermont  Folk Art Gallery (3 artists), Joan CurtisCaleb Kenna and Edward Loedding – four within walking distance, the other a five minute drive from me.

After 2+ years of major construction and improvements the newly revitalized village of Brandon has much to share. Visit our new parks, shops, restaurants and pubs.

Virtual Spring Open Studio Tour 2020

The Brandon Artists Guild is open Friday through Sunday, 10 – 5 this Weekend May 22-24 for the first time since March. On March 6th we installed a brand new show that was only shared for one week!  It’s entitled “Wanderlust” — since that’s what we’re all feeling right now please stop by for some visual travel.

In addition, the Vermont Crafts Council’s Virtual Spring Open Studio Tour, 2020 begins Saturday, May 23. Go to VermontCrafts.com to begin.

This 28th annual Open Studio replaces in-person studio and gallery visits with a Virtual Tour. Over 40 artists are participating with pictures of their work, a short video of the artist in their natural habitat — their studio — making art, and links to their social media and website. The tour offers a behind-the-scenes look into the worklife of an artist.

The Brandon Artists Guild is participating in the tour, as well as member artists Karen Deets, Hallie Monroe, Brandon’s Judith Reilly and Ashley Wolff .

We hope our first-ever online tour continues our statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process during these unusual times. It will remain available through June.

Visit my Gallery May 26 and 27 for Spring Vermont Open Studio!

For the 15th consecutive year I’m participating in the Vermont Craft Council’s Spring Open Studio on Memorial Day Weekend. This is the only time each year I open my studio to share the process for making my whimsical, colorful artwork. Find me in the Rutland County portion of the Open Studio map.

In my home Gallery are both new fabric artworks and this year’s new collection of hooked wool pillows I design for Chandler 4 Corners, a family-run home accents company in Manchester, Vermont. Come see what’s new, what’s “vintage”, and how it’s all done!   (May 2018 post)

See my work in the “Barn Art” exhibit at the Compass Music and Art Center

I have a delightful new piece in the juried exhibit “Barn Art” at the Compass Music and Art Center in Brandon, Vermont.

Conrad Trary’s Blue Barn

This stunning exhibit by 31 Vermont artists runs now through June 16; I shared Judge’s Choice for this whimsical fabric piece.  In an April 14 review in the Rutland Herald, Victoria Crain refers to it as wacky and lovely, one of her favorites: “… to me, this barn is the work of a quilt artist of terrific skill, with a playful sense of perspective, who casts a new eye on whatever she depicts. Nothing ordinary from Reilly. Not ever.”   (May 2018 post)

Maps are available in the Guild at 7 Center St (Rte. 7) downtown to guide you on this fun adventure tour.  (May 2018 post)
