The Brandon Artists Guild is open Friday through Sunday, 10 – 5 this Weekend May 22-24 for the first time since March. On March 6th we installed a brand new show that was only shared for one week! It’s entitled “Wanderlust” — since that’s what we’re all feeling right now please stop by for some visual travel.
In addition, the Vermont Crafts Council’s Virtual Spring Open Studio Tour, 2020 begins Saturday, May 23. Go to VermontCrafts.comto begin.
This 28th annual Open Studio replaces in-person studio and gallery visits with a Virtual Tour. Over 40 artists are participating with pictures of their work, a short video of the artist in their natural habitat — their studio — making art, and links to their social media and website. The tour offers a behind-the-scenes look into the worklife of an artist.
The Brandon Artists Guild is participating in the tour, as well as member artists Karen Deets, Hallie Monroe, Brandon’s Judith Reilly and Ashley Wolff .
We hope our first-ever online tour continues our statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process during these unusual times. It will remain available through June.
For the 15th consecutive year I’m participating in the Vermont Craft Council’s Spring Open Studio on Memorial Day Weekend. This is the only time each year I open my studio to share the process for making my whimsical, colorful artwork. Find me in the Rutland County portion of the Open Studio map.
In my home Gallery are both new fabric artworks and this year’s new collection of hooked wool pillows I design for Chandler 4 Corners, a family-run home accents company in Manchester, Vermont. Come see what’s new, what’s “vintage”, and how it’s all done!(May 2018 post)
Each year my Gallery ends its winter hibernation on Spring Open Studio Weekend — during Open Studio we’re open Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 5. Thereafter scheduled hours are Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 5, until December 15. We’re happy to open other times, just email or call to confirm we’re available. I’m located at 24 Conant Square (Rte. 7) in the village of Brandon, Vermont. (May 2018 post)
The wool hooked pillows and rugs I designed for 2018 have arrived!
See them in my Gallery, or online by searching for “Judith Reilly” on Chandler4Corners.com. I’ve been creating designs for this Manchester, Vermont family-run Home Accent company since 2011. (May 2018 post)
I have a delightful new piece in the juried exhibit “Barn Art” at the Compass Music and Art Center in Brandon, Vermont.
This stunning exhibit by 31 Vermont artists runs now through June 16; I shared Judge’s Choice for this whimsical fabric piece. In an April 14 review in the Rutland Herald, Victoria Crain refers to it as wacky and lovely, one of her favorites: “… to me, this barn is the work of a quilt artist of terrific skill, with a playful sense of perspective, who casts a new eye on whatever she depicts. Nothing ordinary from Reilly. Not ever.” (May 2018 post)
The Brandon Artists Guild unveils its new Fundraiser Project, The Brandon Quilt Trail, in May. See dozens of painted-on-wood quilt designs, traditional and contemporary, in a variety of sizes, all over town — in windows, on store fronts, and on nearby houses and barns.
Maps are available in the Guild at 7 Center St (Rte. 7) downtown to guide you on this fun adventure tour. (May 2018 post)
The Judith Reilly Gallery is finishing its season with extended hours – 10 am to 6 pm – on the next two Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 8-9 and 15-16. Come visit us! Or call if you’d like to visit other times; if we’re home we’re happy to open.
Although scheduled hours don’t resume until May‘s Open Studio Weekend, the Gallery is open by appointment throughout the winter.
In my gallery I sell my original artwork, prints, cards, accessories and the hooked rugs and pillows I design for Manchester, VT based Chandler 4 Corners.
